Focusing on our people inspires them to create better innovations specifically designed to make the world safer, smarter, and more sustainable, paving the way to a better planet and, ultimately, a better society for all.

Our Actions

Materiality assessments. 

We use advanced technology to identify our top sustainability priorities, such as the global transitions to renewable and alternative energy, diversity and inclusion, employee health and safety, integrity and compliance, governance, innovation, talent, and customer success. Results from our ongoing, data-driven materiality assessments help us evaluate and balance specific sustainability issues and trends in the context of our evolving strategy and the business landscape.

As we embed sustainability throughout our organization, we seek to ensure that people and planet are part of the equation for every business decision. We approach this world-changing work with the courage and conviction to try new things, learn from mistakes, and act with integrity, even when it means prioritizing long-term progress over short-term gain. 

We established these principles to guide our decisions: 

  • Employee-led: Putting people at the heart of our sustainability efforts results in broader and deeper engagement, maximizing our impact on the world. We believe in the power of tapping into the passion of our employees to accelerate our progress.
  • Transparency and Accountability: We are committed to meaningful disclosures that increase over time. We hold ourselves accountable by embracing and sharing challenging, science-based targets.
  • Lead with VBS: We harness the power of the Vontier Business System (VBS) to accelerate our impact and drive sustainability throughout our operations.

Global Commitment

Vontier is a proud participant in the UN Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest global corporate sustainability initiative. We have made the UNGC and its sustainable development goals (SDGs) a key part of our strategy, culture, and day-to-day operations. We have prioritized five SDGs where we believe we can make the most impact, and that reflect our desire to lead and solve problems on a global scale.

Our Goals

On the road to Net Zero.

Setting and sharing goals helps keep us accountable in meeting our sustainability commitments. Our environmental goals are aligned with climate science to curb water use, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at a pace and scale consistent with keeping warming below 1.5°C, and our near-term GHG reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)​​​​. In addition, our Environment, Health & Safety, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity, and community giving commitments help make our workplaces and world safer, healthier, and happier.​

Every year, our teams around the world dedicate a day to support team or individual causes they care about in their local communities. From packing meals for hungry kids to keeping streets clean, over 4,000 Vontier team members worked together to create a better world in 2022.

Through direct contributions and employee match opportunities, the Vontier Foundation amplifies our impact. In 2022, we donated over $770,000 with a focus on disaster relief, the environment, education, social justice and inclusion, and local community engagement.

The Vontier Scholarship Program is a powerful way we invest in our communities and give back to our team members and their children. We help prepare young people for a bright future with renewable scholarships for undergraduate and graduate study. Through 2022, we have awarded almost $100,000 for 28 new scholarships and 9 renewals.

We’re committed to running our business ethically and responsibly for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Anti-Corruption Policy

We are committed to complying with all anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws globally, and to holding our subsidiaries to the same standards. 

Antitrust Policy

We strive to compete vigorously, fairly, and in compliance with all laws, including antitrust or anticompetition laws designed to promote fair competition and a level playing field.

California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010

We are committed to producing products ethically and ensuring that none of our workers were forced, coerced, blackmailed, or trafficked into their jobs. 

Charitable Contributions Policy

We comply with all anti-bribery laws and do not make charitable contributions to individuals, religious organizations, political causes, or organizations that discriminate based on age, gender, race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, marital status, or disability.

Combating Trafficking in Persons Policy

We promote ethical and lawful employment and workplace practices for ourselves and within our supply chain.

Conflict Minerals Policy Statement

Communicates our expectation that our suppliers source only from conflict-free smelters.

Environment, Health, Safety & Security Policy

We ensure sustainable and transparent environment, health, safety, and security practices in our operations through clear expectations, training, and VBS.

EU and UK Standard Contractual Clauses

We comply with data privacy regulations, including GDPR, and set appropriate safeguards to protect personal data.

Gift and Entertainment Policy

We do not allow gifts or entertainment to be provided or accepted if the gift or entertainment would violate any applicable law. 

Global Trade Compliance Policy

We comply with all applicable trade compliance laws and regulations in all countries where we do business.

Human Rights Policy

We support universal human rights and the dignity of people throughout our operations, our communities in which we operate, and our global supply chain.

Insider Trading Policy

We require Vontier’s directors and employees to comply with all applicable laws regarding securities trading.

Supplier Code of Conduct

We take a stand for human rights and fair labor standards, and we expect all suppliers and subcontractors across our operating companies to do the same. 

Statement of Support for Ukraine

As part of our commitment to SDG 16, which focuses on peace, justice, and strong institutions, we are indefinitely ceasing all sales and shipments in Russia.
